A guide to CBD cream in Ireland

What is CBD cream?

A CBD cream or balm is a topical: it is applied to the skin rather than swallowed. Our creams combine CBD (and in the cream, CBG) with traditional botanicals, and are massaged into a specific area such as the shoulders, back, knees or calves. CBD does not cause a “high”, and topicals are not absorbed into the bloodstream the way oils are.

How to use CBD cream

  • Apply a coin-sized amount to clean, dry skin and massage in until absorbed.
  • Use as often as you like, day or night. Many people use it after exercise or before bed.
  • Wash your hands afterwards and keep it away from your eyes, mouth and broken skin.
  • Try a small patch first if you have sensitive skin.

CBD cream or CBD oil?

They do different jobs. A cream works where you apply it, while CBD oil taken under the tongue works through the whole body. Plenty of customers use both: oil once a day and cream on the areas they want to focus on. Our dosing guide covers the oil side.

Is CBD cream legal in Ireland?

Yes. CBD creams and balms are sold in Ireland and across the EU as cosmetics, not medicines, which is why we can’t make medical claims about them. Ours are made from EU hemp and independently lab tested. For the wider rules on CBD, see our guide to the 2026 CBD rules in Ireland.

Who should be careful?

Our cream contains wintergreen oil (methyl salicylate), which is related to aspirin. If you are allergic to aspirin, take blood thinners such as warfarin, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are buying for a child, check with your pharmacist first. Stop using it if your skin becomes red or irritated. Want to know more about tiger balm and CBD? Read CBD Tiger Balm: what makes it a go-to for massage?
